Interview with Country/Pop Singer & Songwriter Jordana Bryant

At 15 years old, Jordana Bryant has already captured the hearts of so many fans around the world. She has racked up an impressive 6 million + views on her YouTube channel, her debut EP, ‘Last First’ has 1.3 million global streams, and her debut single, ‘This Love’ was co-written with Grammy winning songwriter Seth Mosley, and Jesse Lee who co-wrote Kelsie Ballerini’s No. 1 hit song ‘Peter Pan’. I had the opportunity to connect with Jordana and chat with her about her career so far.

Jordana, it’s a pleasure to talk with you today. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me. I want to start by asking you when you first knew you wanted to pursue a career in music?

Thank you so much! So excited to be talking with you! I think I’ve honestly just always loved music, and ever since the first time I picked up my dad’s guitar when I was a little girl I knew that music is what I wanted to do with my life. I’ve always loved how songwriters can choose what message they put into the world because I feel like it’s such a great opportunity to spread positivity and help people with what they’re going through. I really hope that I can have that impact on people and use music to make them feel a bit better.

Can you tell us a bit about your family and background growing up? Do you come from a musical family?

My dad played guitar in lots of country/rock bands as a teenager, so growing up I would always hear him playing guitar around the house. One day I remember just picking up his guitar and asking him to show me how to play a chord. And we’ve been fighting over whose turn it is to play the guitar ever since.

Is your family supportive of your music career?

My family is more supportive of my music career than I could ever hope for. Their support means the absolute world to me. I’ve always had this dream of having a music career, so I can’t even express how grateful I am that they believe in my dream.

Do you feel like your childhood shaped the songs you write?

My childhood definitely shaped the songs I write. Growing up listening to the country music that my parents played introduced me to a world of music that I fell in love with from the moment I first heard it. And watching all the romantic-comedies with my family definitely inspired a lot of the hopeless-romantic love songs I’ve written!

How does it feel being compared to Taylor Swift so young?

Taylor Swift has always been such an inspiration for me and she’s one of the artists who helped me realize that I wanted to make music. Being compared to her feels so incredible and unreal because of the impact her music has had on me, and I hope one day I can have that impact on people who hear my music too.

What was the first thing you did when you visited Nashville for the first time?

The first thing I did when I visited Nashville for the first time was go to one of the honkey tonk bars, Tootsies. It was such a cool scene with all of the live music and people! And I even asked one of the musicians if I could get up and sing a song with them and I ended up playing a few songs with the band! It was such a fun experience!!

How does it feel to know that so many people around the world are connecting with the music you’re making?

It truly means the world to me that people are connecting with the music I’m making. For me, music is all about making people feel better and having a positive impact on them, so seeing people respond so positively to my music makes me happier than I could ever express.

What did you learn from writing with people like Seth Mosley and Zach Kale?

I’ve learned so much from Seth, Zach, and all the other songwriters I’ve written with, but I think one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to voice your ideas even if you aren’t completely sure of them. A lot of times I would try to perfect an idea before suggesting it, but they’ve taught me that even if the idea isn’t exactly right, it might give somebody else in the session an idea on how to twist it and lead to something great. They’ve also definitely shown me how to just have some fun and laugh in sessions.

Who came up with the concept for the music video for your song, ‘Last First’?

I had the idea for the video practically right after we wrote it! Because the song has a lot of visual lyrics, I knew I wanted the music video to incorporate those lyrics and show everything in the song. The video turned out better than I could have imagined and I’m so grateful for the awesome team that helped me bring it to life!

What is one “I’ve made it” moment from your career so far?

When Zach Kale agreed to co-produce my next EP with Seth Mosley, it felt really surreal because I was such a big fan of the music that Zach worked on with Gabby Barrett and Seth has had so much success in both the country and the christian genres. Them both wanting to work on my next EP with me really just meant the world to me.

If you could inspire your fans to make one change in their lives, what would that change be and why?

If I could inspire my fans to make one change in their lives it would be to just be themselves. I know how difficult it can be to be vulnerable and really show who you are, but life is so much more fulfilling when you get to be your authentic self! And I hope that they know that their authentic selves are enough no matter what.

What is something your fans might not know about you that you would want them to know (hobbies, funny stories, etc)?

Some people might not know that I’m graduating high school a year early so that I can move to Nashville to pursue my music after I graduate this spring! But since I’ve still been living in Pennsylvania this year while I finish up school, my family and I have had to travel to Nashville for my music like one out of every three weeks! We’ve been at the same hotel in Nashville so much this year that all of the staff knows us.

And finally, what do you want to say to your fans as they read this?

I want to tell my fans that their support means more to me than they could ever imagine. I can’t tell them how grateful I am that my music has been resonating with them and I’m so excited to get to share a bunch of new music with them in the next few months!!

What Is Going on With Adele’s Las Vegas Residency?

Adele postponed her Las Vegas residency with a teary eyed video the day before it was supposed to begin earlier this year. More than five months later, fans are still wondering if the dates will ever be rescheduled.

The “Hello” hit-maker listed the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as the chief reason for the delay in a video that went live on Instagram Jan. 20.

“Listen, I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready,” she announced. “We have tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we have been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID.”

“It’s been impossible to finish the show, and I can’t give you what I have right now,” she added. Adele apologized profusely for the sudden change of plans and promised to “reschedule all of the dates.”

Watch the video below:

The residency was originally due to launch Jan. 21.

Shortly after the announcement, reports of conflict behind the scenes led to questions about what really caused the delay. The Las Vegas Review-Journal noted that Adele reportedly was going back and forth with her set designer.

Adele opened up about the postponed dates during an interview on the Graham Norton Show. She explained that she was worried what people would think if she went forward as originally scheduled, according to Variety.

“People will see straight through me up on the stage and know I didn’t want to be doing it. I’ve never done anything like that in my life and I’m not going to start now,” she said.

Since then, there have been a few whispers about rescheduled dates. However, nothing has materialized yet. While 97.9 fm WRMF reported on rumors that Adele would take the stage at Caesars Palace during a gap between scheduled shows this summer, it appears that the whispers were just gossip.

Instead, the Las Vegas Review-Journal noted that staff at the venue were furloughed during the time Adele was rumored to fill.

A note on Adele’s page on the Caesars Palace website notes that the show will be rescheduled.

“All events originally scheduled for Weekends with Adele at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from January 21, 2022 through April 16, 2022 have been postponed,” it reads. No dates are mentioned.

Fans have been very vocal with questions about the residency as Adele is preparing to take the stage for a different show in London.

The superstar teased the show, which features appearances from the likes of Kacey Musgraves, in a post on Instagram. However, fans in the comments section wanted to know when she planned to return to Vegas.

“What about everyone who bought LV residency and got effed,” one fan wrote. “cmon man.”

“ARE YOU COMING TO LAS VEGAS OR NOT,” another demanded.

“D–n, Adele so I guess its f those that purchased tickets for Las Vegas,” someone complained.

“Ok but what about Vegas,” yet another disappointed fan commented. “It has been 5 months and literally not a single acknowledgement from you or your team as to what the plan is for this. I’m very disappointed in the way you have treated fans who paid of lot of money to travel to see you. You have shown you have zero respect for people or the financial situations you have gotten people tied up into with a show that you knew was never going to happen.”

Check out the post below:

A source told Variety that Weekends With Adele is still supposed to happen before the end of 2022. However, it is unclear where her dates would fit into the schedule.

Adele has previously implied that she wants to get the dates on the books this year so that she can attempt to have a baby in 2023. “Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby,” she said on the Graham Norton Show back in February.

Since Adele does not appear to have addressed Vegas recently, all fans can do is wait to see what comes of the postponed show.

Dove Cameron Reveals She Never Felt Like A “Disney Girl”

Dove Cameron is currently enjoying success with her smash hit single “Boyfriend,” introducing herself to a brand new legion of fans. The performer originally rose to fame as a member of the Disney family, starring in Liv and Maddie on the Disney Channel as well as playing a main role in the Descendants original movie franchise.

In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Cameron opened up about where she started in her career and where she is now. Perhaps most eye-opening for those that have followed her career is that she feels like she never fit the Disney mold:

“I never had that moment where I was like, ‘I’m a Disney girl.’ I never looked at Miley [Cyrus] or Demi [Lovato] or Selena [Gomez] or Zendaya or Bella [Thorne] or anybody — Hilary Duff or anybody that came before me — I never looked at them and thought, you and me — same.”

Delving deeper into the topic, Cameron added she was, “always the strange outlier who doesn’t belong and who will never fit in. I had huge imposter syndrome. So I don’t really look to anybody else for a roadmap. I mean, this whole narrative that I was on Disney and then found my way out with a pop song, it was a total f—ing accident.”

Peaking to date at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “Boyfriend” gave Cameron her first top 20 hit. The track’s success also skyrocketed to the top position on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart.

Of course, Cameron is far from the only former Disney star to distance herself from the House of Mouse. Bella Thorne has become quite the controversial figure in the last few years for her career pursuits. She has also been candid about what it was like breaking into the industry as a “Disney Girl” and the perception that comes with that.

Are you surprised about Dove Cameron coming clean on her feelings about getting her start with Disney?

Why Cardi B is not dropping a music video for her new single

Cardi B is set to stage a major return with her new single dropping this Friday (July 1). However, she’s doing so without a music video, and the reason might surprise you.

The “WAP” superstar announced her new release “Hot S–t” on social media. The track features Kanye West and Lil Durk and arrives this week. Cardi teased the single with a promo video, which sees her standing at the very top of a skyscraper. Based on the snippet that accompanied the clip, it sounds like she has a banger up her sleeve.

Check out the teaser below:

She followed the news up by revealing what appears to be the single’s cover art on Instagram. However, Cardi got frank about the release and told fans that she almost cancelled it during an Instagram live.

“I wanted to cancel my release for this week,” she explained. “Because s–t is not being executed how it’s supposed to.” While the hit-maker ultimately decided that doing so would be “too drastic,” she explained that the song would be arriving without a music video.

It sounds like fans shouldn’t expect a barrage of promo, either.

“I just don’t feel like doing the… You know how I usually do the most with the promo? I just don’t feel like doing too much this time around,” she said. “I’m just exhausted with everybody. I’m so tired of people not doing their f–king jobs correctly. I’m so tired of people just doing things their way. I’m just over it.”

Cardi described the track as masculine and for the clubs. She thanked her fans for their support and expressed confidence that “Hot S–t” would perform well regardless. However, she seemed to be directing blame for her feelings toward her team.

Check out clips from her live below:

It’s currently unclear if a music video for “Hot S–t” will be released at a later date. Complex reported that the visual was “delayed.” However, it’s not quite clear if that is the case or if the video will never premiere.
